For people trying to live into Christian tradition in community ~ to share
This site is for you.
When I went to church as a child, I had a pretty negative experience. I felt overwhelmed, afraid, and ashamed. Not a good track record for a religious tradition supposedly based on God’s love!
When I started going to church services after being away from the Christian tradition for about 20 years, I felt like a stranger and a foreigner. But this time, I did experience God’s love and grace.
For me it happened in a small group sharing communion when the pastor warmly invited me into this ritual act of being nourished.
People loving and welcoming me in a ritual setting that was filled with symbolic meaning is what opened me to the Christian tradition.
What we do in community matters. How we treat each other, and how we share our spiritual practices and rituals, makes a huge difference in people’s lives; your life, my life, and the lives of all the people we encounter.
Posts in this category will include liturgies and ideas for worship or spiritual practices during church “services.” It will include stories about things I’ve tried in various worship settings and some of the lessons I have learned in community.
