It’s the middle of the night.Woke up thinking of all the ways I am imperfect. But this is the nature of being human, right? Have to forgive.

This is why we need each other to love each other. To say that we are *good enough* to be loved.Every mistake feels like an abyss.Compassion.

I am doing the best I can. What I’m doing is good enough for God to love me. I am loved, not because of what I do, but because of who I am.

This is important. I am loved not because of what I do, but because of who I am. I am God’s beloved.God sees the world like this, I believe.

Ok. Now I think I can go back to sleep. God loves you, too, you know. Not because of what you do, but because of who you are. God’s beloved.

God’s love is not contingent. It is unconditional.

  1. David says:

If we thoroughly understand and see that God’s love is unconditional, then we open to the compassion that is possible for our humanness. We accept ourselves as we are. God’s love is this love, compassion, and acceptance that we seem to be giving to ourselves. But this whole ego thing is such a delusion, separating us humans from all that is and causing great suffering.

Peaceful abiding in the presence of being and compassionate allowing as we live our lives. Take care Nanette.

  2. David, thanks for your wonderfully compassionate words here. I love this “God’s love is this love, compassion, and acceptance that we seem to be giving ourselves.”

I think that is so true. And sometimes I encounter/receive God’s love through the compassionate and kind gestures of other human beings, like your words here.

    Thank you for that.
